JWORKSENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY
O-Calc Pro / Small Cell Engineering

Equipment detail.
Drawing alignment.
Informed loading.

Small-cell pole modeling with equipment configuration coordinated to reference drawings, installation details, and manufacturer data.

JWORKS brings pole-loading experience and mechanical drafting insight to the details that define the load model: what is installed, where it is mounted, and how its load reaches the pole.

SELECTED 3D VIEW / POLE-MOUNTED EQUIPMENT
Drawing-led configuration

Geometry coordinated with the installation package.

Equipment-level inputs

Dimensions, weight, position, and orientation.

Traceable technical review

Source references, assumptions, and revisions.

Selected Small Cell Work

From installation intent
to a coordinated model.

The supplied views show a small-cell equipment assembly within an overhead utility environment. Reviewing the 3D arrangement alongside the elevation helps organize the configuration before analysis inputs are finalized.

01 / 3D ARRANGEMENT

Equipment in its mounting context.

Equipment bodies, a supporting frame, braces, pole interfaces, and a vertical riser are visible. The model communicates spatial relationships that require verification against installation details.

02 / REFERENCE ELEVATION

A coordinated installation view.

The elevation shows the pole-mounted assembly, overhead lines, vertical routing, and ground-level equipment. It supports configuration review; exact dimensions must come from the dimensioned source package.

Selected work visuals supplied by JWORKS. These images illustrate model-to-drawing coordination; dimensioned drawings, datasheets, and calculation outputs were not supplied for this portfolio. No numerical capacity or code-compliance result is asserted.

Equipment Input Discipline

Model the details
that define the load.

Drawing alignment supports a better-defined loading model when geometry is reconciled with verified equipment properties and approved analysis criteria. Visual detail alone does not establish calculation accuracy.

01

Antenna & radio equipment

Confirm the equipment schedule, exact model reference, quantity, envelope dimensions, installed weight, and orientation.

SOURCE / Manufacturer datasheets + equipment schedule
REVIEW / Reconcile each modeled item with the current drawing revision; do not infer model numbers or weights from appearance.
02

Mounting frame & hardware

Represent the frame, brackets, clamps, stand-off distance, and equipment mounting elevations.

SOURCE / Mounting details + fabrication drawings
REVIEW / Account for assembly weight and load application points; check that catalog definitions do not duplicate bracket or equipment loads.
03

Elevation, offset & orientation

Coordinate attachment heights, radial positions, horizontal eccentricities, and equipment facing directions.

SOURCE / Dimensioned elevations + plan views
REVIEW / Use a consistent ground-line datum and unit system; verify geometry across views rather than scaling a screenshot.
04

Wind-exposed geometry

Check equipment width, depth, height, shape, and the applicable wind-response parameters.

SOURCE / Manufacturer data + adopted analysis criteria
REVIEW / Review directional exposure and justified wind assumptions. Apply shielding only where the selected method permits it.
05

Cable & conduit attachments

Confirm pole-supported cable routes, risers, conduit sizes, attachment spacing, and applicable supported weights.

SOURCE / Cable routing drawings + installation details
REVIEW / Assign only loads transferred to the pole; reconcile distributed or discrete representations without double-counting.
06

Existing pole & overhead network

Check pole properties, existing attachments, conductor spans and directions, and relevant support conditions.

SOURCE / Field records + utility records + baseline model
REVIEW / Keep the existing configuration consistent when assessing the proposed installation; resolve source conflicts before final analysis.
Load Path & Analysis Scope

Represent what
the pole actually carries.

A complete installation drawing can include assets that do not transfer load to the pole. Modeling scope follows the support arrangement and load path.

Pole-supported equipment

  • Include verified antenna, radio, frame, bracket, and attachment contributions.
  • Coordinate equipment weights, wind-exposed geometry, heights, offsets, and orientation.
  • Include pole-supported cables and risers using the agreed modeling method.
  • Check whether a catalog assembly already includes hardware weight or exposed area.

Ground equipment & analysis criteria

  • Do not add ground-supported cabinet weight to the pole unless the support details establish a load transfer.
  • Review any cable, conduit, or mechanical connection that transmits forces to the pole.
  • Use project-approved utility criteria, wind/ice conditions, load factors, and required cases.
  • Review the pole and support system separately from any connection-design scope requiring dedicated verification.
Quality & Coordination

A disciplined path
from source to issue.

Automation can organize equipment inputs and repeated checks. Technical review resolves assumptions, confirms the configuration, and controls changes that affect the analysis.

01

Reconcile the sources

Review the drawing revision, equipment schedule, datasheets, field records, and required utility criteria. Log missing or conflicting inputs.

02

Build the equipment configuration

Map each pole-supported item to a model element with verified geometry, weight, placement, and source references.

03

Analyze the proposed arrangement

Apply approved load cases and compare existing and proposed configurations. Review governing demand, utilization, and support reactions where applicable.

04

Review & issue

Cross-check the model against the drawings, resolve exceptions, rerun affected cases, and issue coordinated files with an input and revision record.

Technical Deliverables

Clear inputs.
Reviewable outputs.

Deliverables are agreed around the available source package and the required analysis scope.

Coordinated model

An O-Calc Pro model reflecting the agreed pole-supported small-cell configuration.

Equipment input register

Equipment references, quantities, dimensions, weights, heights, offsets, orientation, and source revisions.

Analysis documentation

Existing/proposed comparison, governing load cases, and relevant report outputs within the agreed scope.

Review & revision record

Source discrepancies, assumptions requiring acceptance, checks completed, and changes affecting the analysis.

This portfolio presents work samples and a technical approach. Equipment values, model-to-drawing dimensional agreement, and loading results require project-specific verification.
